自然声/ Nature Acoustics
“Stone and fire, wood and wind, leaves and water, soil and lightning... The ubiquitous movement in nature, through visual processes, sound, and other perceptions make up the human perception of certain phenomena. Music is an art formed by sound through certain laws. How to understand nature, how to understand the world we live in, and how to keep them in balance. The musical instrument is a part of the body for the musician, a tool used to seek perception, and a symbol of guardianship.”
Course description
- 1st: Hear
How to be a good listener, the listener to each other. How to appreciate the past, present and forward of the narrative. Creating a safe space for communication. Discussion through questions such as: is it necessary to prove yourself? Art = Sports? What was the first sound in your memories? The phase “Hear” is characterized by the formation of awareness and perception through language, and by the individual exploration of different perspectives of appreciation.
- 2nd: Listen
Listen carefully to the sound, either a single one or a group of pieces. What does it/ they remind of? Create a simple sound simulation device through recording techniques, audio editing. Together and in small groups, an environmental story is created using sampled and simulated sounds. Through the process of exploring and learning the details of sound plasticity, changes in movement, and fine-tuning of play, an awareness of sound simulation emerges. In the process, understanding of how different ways of playing with a single object can change the sound will be explored.
- 3rd: Represent
An opportunity to learn from the experience and eventually to exhibit or perform for the public. Everyone is in a new, unfamiliar and challenging experience, and the transformation that comes with the role can affect everyone more directly. To gain different perspectives and to re-examine the connections and relationships between oneself and one's work, people and environment.
